A photographic investigation into the funerary industry in Finland. Taking in a largely hidden aspect of our society, the project offers a space for viewers to gaze at the unseen and consider themes relating to death and mortality.
Many of the practices related to death now take place behind closed doors, estranging us from this natural part of the life’s cycle. The motivation for this project has been to acknowledge and recognise our mortality and examine this taboo subject.
